Making My Skin Even Better

How To Look Like Your 20's While In Your 40's

by Virgil Mccoy

Aging can be a wonderful thing; it can bring about wisdom, experience, and a whole lot of memories. And although aging can be wonderful, it can also wreak havoc on your skin and cause a loss of collagen and fine lines and wrinkles. If you have started to notice a few signs of aging in your skin that are making you feel self-conscious, you may be wondering what to do. And although topical creams and lotions can do a little bit, there are some other in-office procedures that can help you like you're in your 20's while you're in your 40's. This article will take a closer look.

MIcroneedling

As previously mentioned, skin care can help your skin look more youthful, but it can only go so far. Microneedling is a collagen induction procedure that not only helps your body produce more collagen, but also helps your body absorb skin care more so it can work on a more molecular level. So how does microneedling work? Microneedling involves a small handheld device that your esthetician will rub across your skin, which makes hundreds of tiny punctures. Then, your skin's natural response to these punctures is to heal itself and make more collagen in your skin instead.

Botox

Botox is another way to get rid of fine lines and wrinkles around your eyes and forehead. Although Botox is often mistaken for a filler, it actually works quite differently. When Botox is injected into the muscles on your face, it helps to relax them and prevent them from contracting, which in turn leaves you with fewer fine lines and wrinkles.

Fillers

Fillers like Juvederm and Resytlane can help you treat wrinkles around your nose, cheeks, and mouth. By literally filling in your fine lines and wrinkles, these temporary injections help to soften them and give you a more youthful look.

Although all of these treatments are temporary, they can be done anywhere from every couple of months to every year depending on how your skin reacts to treatments and what your esthetician recommends. Aging doesn't have to wreak havoc on your self esteem. In fact, there's virtually no reason not to age gracefully. If you want to learn more about microneedling, Botox injections, and fillers, schedule an in-office consultation at a local beauty spa or plastic surgeon's office, like Azalea Skin Treatment Center. They will go over all of your skin care needs and help you find the treatments that are best for you.
